UK Young Seafood Chef of the Year 2012 - Regional Heat (Southern)

16th March 2012, Neath Port Talbot College

Full-time and college based modern apprentices are invited to enter this competition specialising in Seafood. It provides all young chefs with a platform to demonstrate their flair, understanding, skill and ability using seafood from sustainable sources.

Bocuse dOr, European Heats

The Bocuse d’Or is a biennial culinary competition established in 1987 by Paul Bocuse.

The UK-NZ Culinary Challenge Entry deadline

23rd March 2012

The UK-NZ Culinary Challenge offers one lucky UK chef the chance to win an all expenses paid three week tour of New Zealand, flying courtesy of sponsor Air New Zealand to work in the country’s best restaurants and lodges, and visiting food producers and wineries. The competition, in association with the Craft Guild of Chefs, is open to young chefs aged between 18 and 23, who will be tasked with creating a gourmet menu that can be prepared and served in two hours.

Each year Major International and the Craft Guild of Chefs organise the Major Culinary Challenge and Mini Series of Display Classes. The national competitions are open to junior and senior chefs of varying skill levels from any type of outlet and take place throughout the year at venues around the country.
