3 Course Challenge

The 3 Course Challenge is a series of 5Km runs taking place at different horse racing locations across the country including Ascot and Perth. Runners can enter as a team or as individuals and pit their wits against the rest of the country to make their mark on the event’s national leader board. Funds raised will support The Springboard Charity and are being used exclusively to help young, unemployed and disadvantaged people.

The master of molluscs!

2nd September 2009 - 3.30pm., Green’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar, 14 Cornhill, London, EC3V 3ND

Are you the master of molluscs? Can you open 30 native oysters as quickly as the current British champion? Well start practising because it’s time for Tabasco to call for Britain’s best oyster openers to come together and compete for the British oyster opening title. The aim of the championship is to find the fastest oyster opener or ‘shucker’ in Britain. Entries will be judged by a panel of seafood experts and chefs, according to the Galway International Festival rules. The winner claims the title of ‘Tabasco British Oyster Opener of the Year’, a trophy, a £250 cheque and a trip to Galway to represent Britain in the International Championship.
