Chef's Smart Choice cheese range gains Red Tractor accreditation

3663 First for Foodservice has gained Red Tractor accreditation for its entire range of Chef's Smart Choice deli block cheeses.

From this month customers will be able to buy Chef's Smart Choice mild white, mild coloured, mature white and mature coloured deli block cheeses that offer their customers farm to fork provenance.

"Consumers are becoming increasingly concerned about food miles and the environmental impact of the food they eat," says Nicky Dixey, 3663 own brand manager. "The Red Tractor logo assures them that the produce they're eating has met high standards of production relating to food safety and hygiene, animal welfare and environmental protection.

"Provenance is still high on the consumer agenda and caterers are keen to highlight this on their menus. The Red Tractor logo also includes a statement of origin in the flag device and it is reassuring to know that when they see the Union flag in the Red Tractor logo they're guaranteed that the food has come from UK farms. Being able to say your cheeseboard features Red Tractor certified extra mature cheese instead of simply extra mature cheese therefore will improve the perceived value of the dish in the eye of the consumer."
