Consumers given incentive to choose beef when eating out

Consumers are being given a real incentive to choose Quality Standard beef, helping to increase sales in pubs and restaurants this autumn, with a chance for them to win £5,000 cash.

The 'Simply Win' promotion from EBLEX, which runs from mid-September until the end of October, is its biggest promotion to date and is available to all members of its Quality Standard scheme.

As well as the £5,000 top prize, there are also a limited number of runner-up prizes of £50.

Foodservice outlets will need to register for a kit, which contains competition leaflets, a leaflet dispenser with built-in blackboard for beef specials and a ten foot long promotional banner to generate added customer interest.

Registration flyers will be sent out shortly and scheme members are being encouraged to register early.

Hugh Judd, EBLEX foodservice project manager, said: "This is a really exciting promotion that will really encourage diners to choose Quality Standard beef when eating out. In the current climate it is increasingly important to be able to provide customers with assurances of provenance and quality, as well as offering added value, and the EBLEX Quality Standard scheme is well placed to help pubs and restaurants achieve that."
