Discovering the modern Italian Kitchen

Travel company Grand Tourist is offering a lifetime opportunity for professional chefs from the UK to attend a free culinary course in Italy from 27-30 April, based on fish preparation and cooking.

The Tourist Office of Senigallia, Le Marche in Italy, in association with the Panzini Culinary Institute is sponsoring this culinary 'Festival of the Sea', where chefs from the UK, Sweden and Italy will have the chance to work together.

The Festival features cookery demonstrations from Mauro Uliassi, Moreno Cedroni and the chefs of the Panzini Institute. In addition the Michelin-starred Swedish chef Leif Mannerstrom will be participating in the programme. The emphasis is on fresh fish (straight from the Adriatic Sea) and local fresh produce of Le Marche.

The course is designed for accredited chefs only and is an excellent opportunity to discover the skills and innovations of the modern Italian kitchen. The course itself is free of charge however participants have to cover the cost of their travel & board and lodging.

Grand Tourist is co-ordinating travel arrangements for the British chefs and will be offering reasonably priced accommodation for participating chefs.

Director of Grand Tourist, Janet Simmonds said: "Mauro Uliassi is one of the most innovative and contemporary chefs working in Italy today. Mauro is passionate about flavour, texture and presentation and is on a par with Hester Blumenthal and Marco Pierre White.

"Senigallia, on Italy's Adriatic Coast is a stunning place to visit with fantastic seafood. As a region, Le Marche is relatively undiscovered. There are lovely sandy beaches there and it is a marvellous place for shopping, with Prada and Valentino manufacturing leather bags and shoes there."
