ISS Eaton acquires a northern star

ISS Eaton UK has announced the acquisition of northern based contract catering business, The Catering People, for an undisclosed sum.

With 50 sites, a turnover of almost £10 million and a team of over 250 staff, The Catering People has over eight years experience in the provision of catering services.

It has significant contracts within the public sector and education.

As Simon Titchener, MD of ISS Eaton UK explains how the two businesses will work together: "As a result of ISS Eaton's continuing growth within the UK, this is a strategic acquisition that blends two like-minded companies under one brand. It's win-win!

"For The Catering People's customer base and staff it's about seamless transition alongside new opportunity and broader service provision and for us, it's about strengthening the span of business across the UK and adding value to our infra-structure and team. It's a great business and one of the real attractions was the cultural and emotional synergy that was immediately evident across both sides of management and the teams as a whole."

The Catering People was founded by Andy North and Aileen Smith who built the business strongly based on the highest service ethics and bespoke solutions provision. They added strength to their board with the appointment of Maggie Steed and Jeff Blood over the subsequent years.

"The current management team has immense strength and experience and will add great value to the ISS Eaton senior team" he says."

Speaking on behalf of The Catering People, Andy North reinforced how important it was to all the directors that the business and its employees remain in safe hands that will add value and support its future development - yet think and act in the same way across the principles of service, quality and integrity:

"Our company has been built on a strong, progressive approach that aligns individual solutions to customer need. We have total confidence that ISS Eaton UK will continue this journey and share our goals, vision and passion for listening to and responding to our customers' needs. We're looking forward to working as part of the team."
