Major International final to be held at Hospitality

The live final of a 12 month national competition sponsored by Major International in conjunction with The Craft Guild of Chefs will be held at the Salon Culinaire on Tuesday 20th January 2009 at the Hospitality event at the NEC, Birmingham.

Simon Stocker, regional organiser of the competition series along with Chris Basten, chair of judges are looking forward to seeing the best competitors from all the regional heats battle it out to win this highly coveted competition.

Simon Stocker explains: "Major and City and Guilds have shown fantastic support to young chefs in this country with their support. Major's variety of product is fantastic and the Mari base product is so versatile in the many ways it can be utilized in a professional kitchen environment."

The top performers from each of the regional competitions have been specially invited to take part in the Major Culinary Challenge Hot Chicken dish live final at the Hospitality week Salon Culinaire.

The eight competitors will have one hour to produce two separate plated chicken main courses from a 2 ½ lb chicken using a choice of Major Mari-bases.
