New chef boosts U&S development plans

Clean label ingredients specialists Ulrick & Short has announced the appointment of Richard Squire as development consultant chef.

The company says that Squire will play a key role in creating food samples, providing potential customers with an all encompassing visual taste and texture experience.

This will be achieved during cookery demonstrations during which Ulrick & Short's clean label ingredients will be used within the food application.

His input is designed to help inspire food developers and deliver ideas which will create and convert culinary concepts into superior end products to meet the latest consumer demands.

Another aspect of Squire's role will be to advise Ulrick & Short on how to incorporate the correct ingredients into products whilst maximising flavours within development work.

The initiative will enable food developers to quickly incorporate clean label ingredients into new culinary experiences and help them remain competitive.

With over 25 years experience working as a chef in hotels, restaurants and private hospitals, Squire said he is delighted with the new challenges that his role offers.

Commenting on this latest appointment Ulrick & Short's director Adrian Short said: "Our hands on approach to the new product development process combines food technology and culinary flair along with expert guidance from our experienced food technologists. Our commitment to innovation and new product development is a key to our success. Whatever the requirement, we work in partnership with our customers, planning and building long-term solutions."
