New market for St Pancras International

A new daily market will be launched at St Pancras International this September, offering a fresh, seasonal and sustainably-sourced range of produce for the daily London commuter.

As well as this, products on offer at the first permanent Sourced market – to open on Monday 7 September – include wine and beers to take home or by the glass.

All producers are selected by Sourced; packaging must be kept to a minimum and ideally produced from recycled or sustainable sources and be 100% recyclable.

In line with other Sourced markets, much of the produce will be local; food miles will be kept to a minimum by direct sourcing and working with farmers and producers from Kent and the South East.

Sustainably-sourced fish and seafood from day-boats fishing from the port of Looe, Cornwall will be available; plus Neal's Yard Dairy's range of cheese; and a wide choice of free-range meat produced from high standards of animal welfare, mostly from Jody Scheckter's Laverstock Park Farm.

The market will also include a bakery – comprising Flour Power City and Flour Station – selling freshly-baked bread and pastry. It's deli will offer a daily changing menu of salads, fresh pasta, pies, patés and cooked dishes.

Co-founder Ben O'Brien says: "For a while now we have wanted to bring all the benefits of a great produce market to London's busy commuters, seven days a week. The station in turn wanted a genuine and independent produce market with great food and knowledgeable and passionate staff – exactly what Sourced market is all about."

The company plans to launch a dedicated website for the St Pancras site – Collect & Go – so customers can pre-order food from work and collect it on the way home.
