Scottish Restaurant of the Year 2008 announced

The Grill - Dakota Forth Bridge’s highly acclaimed restaurant scooped the coveted ‘Restaurant of the Year’ award at the inaugural Scottish Restaurant Awards, on Monday night.

In a double win, The Grill also triumphed in the 'Best Scottish Hotel Restaurant' Award category.

The Grill's chef Roy Brett – formerly Executive Chef at seafood restaurant Rick Stein's – leads his team to create cuisine, using the finest locally sourced and sustainable produce.

In under a year The Grill has already been established as one of the finest eating destinations in Scotland.

Joanna Blythman, a food journalist and an influential commentator on British food, named The Grill as one of the top restaurants in Scotland.

Roy Brett said: "To be named both overall Scottish Restaurant of the Year and Hotel Restaurant of the Year is a great achievement! We absolutely couldn't have done it without our producers and suppliers who work with us to make sure everything we serve is sustainable, fresh and sourced locally. We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised in such a prestigious way."
