Six British Hospitality Awards revealed

Orchid wins largest business food category

This year’s six British Hospitality Awards, given by the British Hospitality Association (BHA) to commend outstanding service to the tourism and hospitality industry, were presented at the BHA’s luncheon at Grosvenor House, London yesterday (25 June).

BaxterStorey won the training award, sponsored by People 1st, for its success in training and developing its staff, and for setting up its Chef Academy.

 

Orchid Group picked up the large business food category, sponsored by Nestle Professional, for the lead it has taken in encouraging the use of locally produced produce in all of its outlets.

 

And Lakeside Hotel and Restaurant, Newby Bridge, Cumbria, scooped the small business food category award, sponsored by SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval), for the involvement it has in encouraging the use of locally produced food in its restaurant.

 

Other winners included Milson Hotels, Dedham, Essex, winning the tourism award, Sodexo, picking up the environment award (group) and the Acorn House Restaurant, gained the environment award (independent).
