Tea for two merging charities

Newly merged Help the Aged and Age concern are set to celebrate their new venture after winning an afternoon tea party with the Craft Guild of Chefs Culinary Academy.

Around 50 influential members will be treated to cakes, canapés, open sandwiches, Champagne, Pimms and orange juice at Chelsea Arts Centre on July 1st.

The spread in aid of the charity will be served up by Culinary Academy members, who by day work for Zuidam Patisserie, Leatham's, Eton College and Restaurant Associates.

The tea party was won in a Westminster Kingsway College and Craft Guild of Chefs' fundraiser, which made a massive £1,500 to help develop young chefs through competitions.

The money will go into mentoring and training promising protégés in the skills needed to face opposition on a global scale and fund trips to make this a reality.

As part of the prize, Help the Aged and Age Concern also won 20 tickets to an Ascot race, donated by equipment supplier Sodexo.
