The Royal Garden hotel to launch new restaurant

The five star Royal Garden Hotel has announced that it will be opening its new Park Terrace restaurant and bar in May.

The launch follows the success of the restaurant Min Jiang on the tenth floor, which opened in September 2008.

The restaurant will be located on the ground floor of the hotel, offering views of Kensington Palace Gardens. The venture will be divided into three areas: a restaurant serving à la carte British cuisine, with a strong focus on locally sourced ingredients; a lounge area offering a more informal dining option with all day dining and afternoon tea available; and a bar which will provide the focal point of the room, visible from the hotel lobby.

The restaurant and bar manager will be Jorge Canela, who has worked at the Royal Garden for the past four years.

Executive chef Steve Munkley will be serving up treats such as cromer crab ravioli, samphire and shellfish bisque and organic beef fillet carpaccio for starters, followed by main courses including lavender and herb crusted rump of Suffolk organic lamb and pan roasted cornish halibut, together with a range of desserts.

Lunch will be priced at £15 for two and £19.50 for three courses and dinner will be priced at £26 for two courses and £31 for three courses.

The interior of Park Terrace will feature a warm colour palette of neutral tones, highlighted by light bronze accents and dark wood. The quartzite stone bar, located in the centre of the room, will offer a backdrop against the floor to ceiling views of the Kensington Palace Gardens.
