Weymouth College Catering department to sponsor cookery theatre

Weymouth College’s catering department has confirmed that they are to sponsor the Cookery Demo Theatre at the second Weymouth & Portland Catering Show.

The show is described as a key trade exhibition for the region's hospitality and catering industry and this year's will be held at Redlands Community Sports Hub on 20th and 21st October 2009.

Ashley Perry, lecturer of catering and hospitality of Weymouth College said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the catering department especially as we are hosting the event in our very own venue. The line up of chefs will include some great regional talent which in turn will inspire our students and help to build lasting relationships between education and business."

With the eyes of the world on Weymouth and Portland as the sailing venue for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the £6.6 million investment into Weymouth seafront will transform the area, increasing the annual turnover of business by potentially £4.8 million per annum, through increased visitor spend.

The Catering Show will provide a focused show case for trade suppliers who are, in successful business cases, important partners in the drive to ensure a top quality visitor and domestic customer experience.

Chefs invited to demo include Lesley Waters and the recent winner of Masterchef, Mat Follas.
