Paperino’s makes Erskine general manager

Paperino’s West End – one of Glasgow’s most popular Italian restaurants – has promoted Gordon Erskine to the newly created position of general manager to oversee the operation of the restaurant.

Mr Erskine, who has worked at Paperino's for many years, most recently as manager, assumes overall responsibility for recruiting, training and monitoring the performance of the team, whilst maintaining budgets and achieving agreed margins.

Mr Erskine said: "I'm delighted with this promotion and look forward to helping oversee the continual development of the restaurant which has proved popular with all lovers of authentic Italian food since its opening three years ago."

Paperino's Managing Director Mark Billington said: "It's a mark of the restaurant's increasing popularity that we have promoted Gordon as general manager to oversee its smooth running to achieve and exceed agreed targets of profits, revenue and customer satisfaction. Gordon has shown over the years that he has all the qualities required to take Paperino's West End to its next stage of development."

Offering an intimate and relaxed environment with an emphasis on traditional Italian cuisine in a neighbourhood setting at 227 Byres Road, the 200 plus cover Paperino's West End combines an extensive range of pasta, pizza and meat and fish dishes with a takeaway service along with early morning coffee and pastries. In addition, a specially created children's menu is available throughout opening hours of this family restaurant.

Paperino's West End is the sister restaurant to Paperino's, which opened at 283 Sauchiehall Street in 1991 and quickly established itself as an institution to Glasgow diners.
