School Cooks competition

School Cooks is a nationwide schools’ competition in association with www.eatthechef.com which equips students with the knowledge and skills to deal with a range of issues they face as they grow up. The competition could win their school £10,000 worth of cooking equipment.

Major Series 2011

The national competitions are open to junior and senior chefs of varying skill levels from any type of outlet and take place throughout the year at venues around the country. A host of live and static display classes are held including pastry and restaurant skills, as well as the hot live Culinary Challenge, which allows 50 minutes to prepare and cook two individual chicken dishes. This competition is open to all trainee chefs in full time education between the ages of 17-23. We Know that Competitions are key to catering student development and Philadelphia have teamed up with the Craft Guild of Chefs, professional chef Sophie Wright, and City & Guilds to develop a competition that will stretch trainee chefs and reward the most promising individuals, giving them a helping hand as they progress towards their professional lives.
