An Evening at Gaucho O2

21st January 2010 - 5.30-9.30pm, Gaucho O2, Peninsula Square, London SE10 0DX

A wonderful way to start 2010 is an evening at Gaucho O2 at the O2 arena in Greenwich to learn about Argentine cuisine. Organised by Westminster Kingsway College chef lecturer Jose Souto and R&R Teamwork, Gaucho’s rumbustious Master of Meat Ryan Hattingh will be showcasing two of the restaurant’s signature dishes. Guild chefs will be guided through ceviche making Gaucho style, with a range of citrus marinated seafood. He will then move on to explain the provenance, the ageing and the cooking of Gaucho’s celebrated Argentine beef, reared on Argentina’s pampas grasses. No surprise that the average Argentine eats 88kg of beef a year compared to the 38kg of us supposedly beef-brunching Brits. Eight places are offered to Craft Guild members on a first come first serve basis. Email Jose Souto at Jose.Souto@westking.ac.uk to book your place. The event will be featured in the spring issue of the Craft Guild’s Stockpot magazine.
