Michael Godfrey

Executive Head Chef, Sodexo

Michael is a highly respected individual with a wealth of industry experience. He developed his skills and experience before joining Sodexo as Executive Head Chef.

Michael’s career history spans far and wide including director’s chef at Guinness Brewing, Park Royal, London; chef de partie, The Officers Mess, RAF West Drayton; commis chef, Arlington Heathrow Hotel and apprentice chef with RAF Uxbridge.

As a highly experienced competitor, Michael has gained numerous awards on the national and international stage. His innovative and creative flair teamed with his strong training and motivational skills make Michael an inspiration to young chefs.

His most recent wins include gold medal at NEC; semi finalist, KNORR National Chef of the Year 2008; Sodexo Chef of the Year 2006/7; winner of the Escoffier challenge cup 2005 and Erfurt Culinary Olympics: individual entry, silver award in class A 2004.

Michael has a wealth of judging experience including both live cookery and cold entries at the Malta Salon Culinaire; Major Mini Series at Westminster College; Bournemouth Salon 2008 and Hotelympia 2008.
