Winner: Will Torrent, Bachmanns

At perhaps his first taste of the industry preparing for the WorldSkills competition with Bachmanns patisserie and chocolate creations, Will Torrent displayed a keen appetite to learn and the necessary levels of both concentration and application to excel.

The pastry chef then achieved sixth place and was acclaimed the Medallion of Excellence winner.

In the short period of time since graduating from Thames Valley University with a first class honour, Torrent was the overall winner of the pastry section at the Academy of Culinary Arts Awards of Excellence in 2007.

Bachmanns says that in the 10 months since he has been there, he has continued to make significant progress in all areas of his work.
