NZ UK Challenge

The NZ-UK Link Foundation and the Craft Guild of Chefs have joined forces to bring you a unique and highly prestigous competition which offers the fabulous prize of an all expenses paid working visit to New Zealand for the UK competitor, while a young New Zealander comes to Britian.

The competiton was the brain child of New Zealand chef Peter Gordon, of the Providores restaurant in London.

Entry Criteria

Entrants must be between the ages of 18 and 23 years old and should be employed or in full or part time education within the hospitality industry. Also a full and valid UK passport is required.

Competition Format
All applicants are paper judged on their type written menu, incorporating New Zealand produce and wine. Recipes should be capable of being reproduced within a 2 hour period at the final cook off, to which eight finalists are invited.

The Prize
Finalists receive a year's paid membership to the Craft Guild of Chefs and are invited to the prestigious awards ceremony held at NZ House in London’s West End, catered for by Peter Gordon.

The overall winner will receive a return flight provided by Air New Zealand and a grant to cover all expenses for a working visit to New Zealand to work and learn for up to three weeks in top restaurants around the country, with the option of one further week free to explore and enjoy. To be taken in the late NZ summer, ie Feb/March.
