Cooking the book at National Dining Rooms

The National Dining Rooms is inviting guests to enjoy a feast of dishes from the just-published National Cookbook whilst also taking advantage of a £5 discount on the purchase of the book.

The National Cookbook marks a new chapter for renowned restaurateur Oliver Peyton. To mark its release, Gillan Kingstree, head chef of The National Dining Rooms, has created a series of set menus that showcase recipes from the book.

A choice of British starters include shredded lamb salad with cherries and mint; and potted mackerel with fruit compote. Amongst the main course highlights are calves' liver with pickled walnuts; and broccoli and Stilton pie with pumpkin sauce. Desserts include rhubarb tart; and a classic, creamy rice pudding. Two courses are priced at £18.50, followed by £21.50 for three.

As an added bonus, when customers dine from the special set menu, The National Dining Rooms will give them a £5 discount on The National Cookbook, normally priced at £25.

Housed in the Sainsbury Wing of the landmark building that is The National Gallery in Trafalgar Square, The National Dining Rooms is open during gallery hours for morning coffee through to lunch and the ultimate afternoon tea.
