Hulstone to cook meal fit for a princess

KNORR National Chef of the Year and Bocuse d’Or 2010 hopeful, Simon Hulstone, has been invited to cook a three-course meal for Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne.

The chef who is the proprietor of The Elephant Restaurant in Torquay will cater for HRH at a luncheon taking place at Butcher's Hall in London on May 18th.

The event is hosted by Quality Meat Scotland and will involve Simon and his team preparing and serving the dishes that he created for the Bocuse d'Or competition earlier this year.

It's another feather in the bow for the chef who was last week awarded the British Culinary Federation's Louis Sauveur Cipolla award – the highest accolade for a chef of any level within the federation.

Simon Hulstone, says: "The last 12 months have been really rewarding in that my hard work and determination have been recognised. Winning the Louis Savour Cipolla is personally satisfying since my father is the only chef to have won the award twice in two consecutive years.

"Not every chef gets the chance to cook for Royalty so I'm delighted to be given the honour. Along with Her Royal Highness, we will also be cooking for an impressive list of chefs, so it will be an unforgettable experience for myself and my team."
