Industry recognised in New Year Honours

Several members of the food and drink, hospitality and catering industries have been awarded with New Year Honours in the 2008 list.
Stuart Rose, Chief Executive of Marks and Spencer has been recognised for his achievements with a knight hood, after turning the company around since taking it over in 2004.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Mr Rose said: "Naturally I am delighted, but it is as much for everyone at M&S as it is for me."
Marks and Spencers were voted top in the Eat Out Magazine Top 50 awards back in December.
The following people were also awarded with New Year Honours for their contributions to the industry:

Timothy Brigstocke MBE Lately Chair, Royal Association for British Dairy Farmers. For services to the Dairy Industry.
Kathleen Carr MBE Catering Supervisor, House of Commons.
Raymond de Courcy MBE Chairman and Chief Executive, Rye and District Hotels & Caterers Association. For services to the Hospitality Industry.
Lesley Gardner MBE For services to the hospitality industry
Elaine Heal MBE Catering Manager, Teignmouth Community College, Devon. For services to Education.
David Jones MBE For services to the Food Wholesale Industry in South Wales.
Penelope Newman OBE Chief Executive Officer, Cafedirect. For services to Ethical Business.
Richard Pearson OBE Lately Chair, British Institute of Innkeeping. For services to the Hospitality Industry.
Debbie Reynolds Order of the Bath Lately Chief Veterinary Officer, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Phillip Riddle OBE Chief Executive Visit Scotland Chief Executive, VisitScotland. For services to the Tourist Industry.
Robert Walton MBE For services to the hospitality industry.
John Williams MBE Executive Head Chef, The Ritz and Chair, Academy of Culinary Arts. For services to the Hospitality Industry.
Thomas Wood MBE Chair, Ripon Select Foods Ltd. For services to the Food Industry and to the community in Ripon, North Yorkshire.
Callton Young OBE Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Director of Sustainability and Competitiveness, Food and Drink Federation.
This is the first Honours List recommended by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and its aim is to reflect and pay tribute to outstanding achievement and service across the entire community.
