Institute of Hospitality chief executive Philippe Rossiter to stand down

After nearly 10 years in post, Philippe Rossiter has announced he will step down as chief executive of the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) at the end of this year.

Rossiter said: "The past 10 years with the institute have been immensely rewarding, and I have had the pleasure of working with some wonderful people.

"It has come through some major changes in this period, and the benefits of these are now being demonstrated in a number of areas.

"The industry's professional body is going from strength to strength and it is now appropriate to pass on the baton to someone new who will guide it through the next chapter in its history."

IoH president Sir David Michels added: "We have been very lucky to have had Philippe as our chief executive over this period of unprecedented change.

"His leadership, vision, commitment, and his integrity have helped to lead the Institute through turbulent times and leave us in a much stronger position.

"He will be very sadly missed but he is leaving a strong legacy for his successor to take forward."

The announcement was made at the IoH's annual lunch yesterday, which attracted nearly 400 hospitality professionals.
