Chris Brown and MPW looking forward to working together

TV chef Marco Pierre White has announced the appointment of a new group head chef for his Sanguine-backed restaurants.

Chris Brown will oversee the Kitchen Burnout star's two restaurants – Marco Pierre White's The Swan Inn in Aughton, Lancashire, and MPW Steakhouse Bar and Grill Chester.

The 32-year-old was mentored by Marco at his venues 'Marco' at Chelsea Football Club and 'Wheeler's of St James's' before being appointed head chef at his Chester restaurant. Prior to this he gained 14 years experience working at award-winning restaurants in Cheshire.

Chris, from Congleton, Cheshire, said: "Marco's northern restaurants have proven immensely popular since they opened earlier this year with diners appreciating the choice and quality of food and enjoying the comfortable surroundings.

"It is an honour to be working with such a highly respected chef and I look forward to embracing the challenge of overseeing every aspect of food service at each venue."

The two restaurants represent a significant coup for Sanguine Hospitality which, with the help of Marco's long-standing friend and restaurant entrepreneur Francis Carroll, successfully enticed the celebrity chef to embark on his first UK ventures outside the South of England.

There are also plans to open two further Marco Pierre White branded restaurants - Hotel Indigo, Liverpool, due to open May 2011 and Doubletree by Hilton, Bristol, opening early September this year. Both of which will also be overseen by Chris.

Marco said: "It is my job to ensure each restaurant maintains a high level of service and that customers continue to enjoy their culinary experience.

"Recruiting the best people in the business is key to our ongoing success and Chris has the experience and expertise to ensure the MPW restaurants remain a leading choice for diners."
