Michael Gray heaps praise onto new diploma for the hospitality industry

The new Diploma in Hospitality is one of the best things to have happened to the hospitality industry for a long time claimed Michael Gray at the Hospitality Diploma Showcase event hosted by People 1st on 12th May.

Speaking to over 60 practitioners and others involved in the delivery of the Diploma, the Regency Hyatt London – The Churchill's general manager urged them to pick up the phone and engage with him and other employers.

"The Diploma is what we employers want and we really do support this. We love the industry and want to share our passion with you. We are here to help you educate our future generation and will talk and inspire."

Heather Taylor, Hospitality Diploma manager at People 1st confirmed the growing appetite from practitioners to engage with employers in their community, but recognised that they may not necessarily know how to go about it.

"This event was specifically designed to put delegates in contact with prospective new partners through our regional networking sessions. We felt that as we approach the end of the first year of teaching, it was an opportune time to take stock of how the Hospitality Diploma has fared and get all those involved to share their experiences and successes."
