New guide boasts Norfolk's diverse eateries

Some 70 eateries are now featured in a new pocket-sized Eating Out guide produced by VisitNorwich to celebrate the many and varied menus available to hungry diners in and around the area.

The guide is now in its 11th year and gives details of country pubs, gastro eateries, stylish cafes and traditional tearooms – all catering for different tastes and budgets.

80,000 copies of the guide will be distributed over the next 12 months through tourist information centres, tourist attractions and travel points around the region, as well as leisure centres, shops, restaurants, and local businesses.

The Eating Out section of the website has also been enhanced to include an updated and easy-to-use search facility for those wishing to investigate the many venues covered in the guide.

To coincide with the Bidwells Norwich & Norfolk Food Festival (8-14 October), the Eating Out guide will also be inserted into the September edition of the glossy EDP Norfolk magazine, which goes on sale at the end of August.

Michael Nutt, managing director of Visit Norwich, said: "This is a fantastic guide which has proved exceptionally popular over the last decade and I'm delighted to see such a variety of eateries featured in it for 2008/2009.

"The timing of its launch is perfect as it coincides with a really exciting period of build-up activity for the Bidwells Norwich and Norfolk Food Festival. This Festival will in itself show off so many of the fantastic venues featured in the guide and celebrate the great dishes being produced and the superb service being offered to locals and visitors alike."

The guide includes 26 10 per cent discount vouchers for some of the area's newest and most popular restaurants including wagamama, Expresso, Yellows, Taste of Oz, Kitchen and Number 12.
