The winners of this year's Slingsby Trolley Challenge Cup, hosted by Westminster Kingsway College, has been announced today.

First place went to The Royal Garden Hotel and their Hawaiian Bar trolley, followed by Millennium Baileys Hotel which made it into second place.

Prizes were also awarded for best theme and most entertaining among others and were given out by Anne Pierce, chief executive of Springboard Charitable Trust and Christian Slingsby of Slingsby Trolleys who sponsored the event.

The challenge consisted of 14 teams and their personalised and brightly decorated Slingsby trolleys parading around Vincent Square, London.

Gabrielle Burgath, events manager for Springboard, said: "We at Springboard really want to raise the profile of the hospitality industry and show the young ones that it is a great place to work."

The race featured teams from top establishments including the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill; The Sheraton Park Lane; Aramark – Contract Caterers, The Dorchester and the Royal Garden Hotel.

The event was held by The Springboard Charitable Trust, the charity in the UK that helps young and disadvantaged young people improve their prospects by training them in a career in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism.
