Ulster University achieves Craft Guild of Chefs accreditation

Written by: Edward Waddell
Ulster University in Northern Ireland has achieved accreditation status from The Craft Guild of Chefs.

Michael Gilles, course director and lecturer culinary arts management, said: "Ulster University is honoured to be the first institution in Ireland awarded the highly regarded Craft Guild of Chefs accreditation. By meeting the stringent criteria set by the Craft Guild of Chefs, we aim to showcase the high calibre of teaching and facilities at our institution.”

The assessment was carried out by Neil Rippington, international director, global education, IHM and member of the Craft Guild of Chefs Training and Education Committee.

Rippington added: “The teamwork between the students and staff was excellent and the atmosphere in the Academy venue was very much ‘restaurant’, than that of a training facility.”
