Newly appointed champion for Cheshire pubs

Punch Taverns has appointed a key new figure in its campaign to champion and support pubs in Cheshire.

Martin Carter, from Wistaston Nr Nantwich has joined the pub group as business relationship manager supporting pubs in Crewe, Sandbach, Nantwich and Congleton.

Carter will report to operations manager Geoff Temperton and will work closely with 54 licensees across Cheshire to help them build successful, sustainable businesses.

Commenting on the appointment, Carter said: "It's a great opportunity to support pubs in the leased business. I feel I have a real chance to add value by pulling on my experiences. I am a different individual for each of the 54 licensees I support helping them look specifically at what will help their business."

Carter previously spent 10 years as a chef, firstly in the merchant navy and then in restaurants. He then moved in to a number of general manager roles in companies including The Orchid Group and the Spirit Group.
