Winner: Samantha Rowles,Sheraton Skyline
Even at such a young age, Samantha Rowles has had a great deal of support from her superiors who believe she is more than capable in her profession.
She started working at the Sheraton Skyline just two weeks after she finished school at 16 and she now works on the main section of the kitchen. Before starting her kitchen and larder apprenticeship at the hotel, she entered FutureChef in 2005.
Mentored by Sheraton sous chefs Peter Corfe and Serken Yelkenbasan, the stint made her realise her potential and inspired her to pursue her career as a chef.
In 2007, she took part in Springboard's 'Back to the Kitchen'where she created a dish for 100 guests.
Executive chef Marco Di Tullio says: "Samantha has improved from zero to a fantastic chef. We are extremely impressed with her."
