The lucky finalists are Brula, Market, Sam's Brasserie & Bar, Sitaaray, The Prince Regent, and Wahaca. Amanda Biddle, the managing director of the awards, commented on the selected eateries: "With the current credit crunch diners are looking for affordable options and the Evening Standard's readers have chosen a great selection." The judging panel, which includes top critics Charles Campion, Giles Coren, Fay Maschler, and Jay Rayner, will announce the winner at the awards on 1 September at Grosvenor House, Park Lane. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Jack Dee. Toptable has also revealed their nominees for the 'Best Restaurant Chin' category - Carluccio's, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Pizza Express, Strada, and Wagamama. The winner will be revealed on the same day as the 60 under £60 category. These restaurants have all been voted for by users of the Toptable website.
