Alliance launches Silere Alpine Origin Merino lamb with Ocado
Launched at New Zealand House, London, guests experienced the taste of the lamb.
Silere Alpine Merino lamb is available to buy through Ocado. It is packaged under Alliance’s product brand, Pure South. The products include: boneless leg joint, extra trimmed rack, lamb loin fillets and boneless rump.
Dave Richards, general manager sales for Alliance UK said: “It was a delight to launch our SILERE Alpine Origin Merino lamb and provide our guests with the opportunity to taste the unique flavour it offers. Ocado is a formidable online grocery channel, and we are delighted with these new listings created through a partnership with Hilton Food Solutions.”
During the event, Ian Boden, development chef at Alliance delivered a menu using all four lamb products in the range.
Using the lamb rack, he cooked honey and soy lamb lollipops accompanied with spring onion, chilli and coriander salsa.
Using lamb rump, Ian made small bites of a smoked rump of Silere lamb, with aubergine and tomato. He also made a Moroccan spiced SILERE lamb rump with a fruit and nut couscous.
The menu also included lamb leg and lamb loin. Using lamb leg, he made a lamb Bhuna bon-bon and a roasted leg of lamb, confit garlic and saffron aioli.
With the lamb loin, he served guests a tartlet of lamb, pea and truffle puree, and a lamb Wellington, mushroom duxelle.
The SILERE Merino lamb is grass fed, free range and GMO-free. The flavours are infused through grazing on fragrant alpine herbs such as golden tussock and wild mountain thyme.
