Written by: Admin
Local chefs including Ashley McCarthy and Stephanie Moon will be hosting a range of cookery demonstrations on the hour at the award-winning Ye Old Sun Inn in York in July to support the Charity Farmers Market event on 13 July.
The aim of the charity event is to raise funds for a local hospice in Boston Spa as well as raise the awareness of local producers in the area. The day, held on 13 July from 11.30 until 3.30pm, will have around 20 stalls of various local small producers talking about their produce and skills. Suppliers who have already signed up to the event include Wharf Valley Farms, Bracken Hill Fine Foods, Sloe Motion, Burdass Lamb, and Shire Honey products. Ye Old Sun Inn has won the Pub Food of the Year 2008 title by the Publican Magazine and has also been awarded Community Pub of the Year 2008. Ashley McCarthy is the head chef and owner of Ye Old Sun Inn pub and Stephanie Moon works at the four-star Rudding Park Hotel in North Yorkshire.
