Chef Jason Leonard wins Scrum Dine With Me contest

Written by: Admin
Jason Leonard has been championed winning chef of the charity event Scrum Dine With Me.
His winning dish featured a roast rack of lamb with mint and onion sauce. Leonard, along with Martin Offiah MBE, Lee Mears and Nick Easter, swapped their England kit for chef whites to each prepare one of four courses, raising a staggering £15,000 for Wooden Spoon, a rugby charity supporting mentally and physically disadvantaged children. Hosted by Sky Sports news presenter Millie Clode, the players' efforts were judged by food critics Charles Campion, Kate Spicer, Humayun Hussain, Richard Vines and the renowned Vivek Singh. The winning chef commented: "Scrum Dine With Me is such a fantastic idea, I was thrilled to be involved. However, when I put on the chef whites and saw the scale of the kitchen I had some serious pre-match nerves. It was hard work and the competition tough, but at the end of night the best man won! Wooden Spoon is an excellent charity and I look forward to the next food fight."
