Chef Marcus Wareing delays opening of The Gilbert Scott restaurant
Top chef Marcus Wareing has announced that due to construction delays he has had to further postpone the opening of his new restaurant, The Gilbert Scott at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London.
Wareing was set to open the venture in April 2011 but will now be launching it at beginning of May.
The establishment will be open seven days a week, for lunch and dinner in the grand restaurant and all day dining in its unique bar. The restaurant will offer an "original yet familiar menu", serving great British Classics.
Dishes will include Dorset jugged steak (braised featherblade with port, pork dumplings and redcurrant), tweed kettle (sea trout with a lemon, nutmeg and herb crust) and Manchester tart (custard, bananas, puff pastry and a jam).
Meanwhile the grand and timeless bar will offer an all day dining menu of British bites including pork and sage stuffing balls and Lancashire mushroom rolls.
Design features will include hand painted ceilings, marble and gold leaf detail.
