The countdown begins for Hospitality Action Week
There are just 13 days left until Hospitality Action Week 2011 kicks off.
All sectors of the industry are gearing up for a week long carnival of fundraising activity (16-22 May) in support of Hospitality Action.
This year the charity – which takes care of hospitality workers and their families in times of need - is campaigning to get everybody in the industry to raise a minimum of £5 each, but it doesn't have to be limited to this.
Last year, the Red Carnation hotel raised a massive £2,500 through a range of activities from cook-off's to cake sales to football matches and fancy dress.
HR manager Claire Golden said: "It's great to be able to give something back to a charity which does so much for those in our industry. Our fundraising efforts were all light-hearted and fun which really brought the team together. This year's HA Week is already the hot topic of conversation and is creating a real buzz among workers in our hotels."
Meanwhile staff at the award winning Bath Priory hotel organised a cycle ride which raised over £1,000 for the charity.
In addition, commencing at 10am on Monday 16 May and running until 2pm on Friday 20 May there will be an online auction with a selection of prizes on offer including an overnight stay and afternoon tea at The Metropolitan in London, a meal for two at Mitch Tonk's Seahorse Restaurant in Dartmouth and a chocolate hamper.
