The theatre window offers guests a glimpse of the oldest part of the 15th Century building from the restaurant interior while the team of chefs prepare the regional and seasonal European menu with a British twist. The second and third floor diners can also take part in the experience, with plasma screens linking corporate and private guests with the action. Pete Cornwall, managing director at The Swan, explained his reasons behind introducing the window: "Customers really enjoy the contrast of the relaxed vibe in the restaurant and the frentic pace in the kitchen and the contemporary interior of the restaurant looking through the 15th Century part of the building. It's created a wonderful connection between the food preparation, cooking and dining at The Swan." The new window is part of an interior upgrade on the ground floor of the eatery, which includes feather wallpaper, new soft furnishings, a contemporary chandelier and slate menu boards, all of which were designed by London designers Brinkworth Design.
