GBK names burgers after Mayor of London
Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) is giving Londoners the chance to get involved in the London Mayoral election race by naming burgers after the most high profile candidates.
The burger restaurant group is naming the burgers after Ken Livingstone, Boris Johnson, Brian Paddick and Sian Berry.
The aim of this is to give an indication of how successful each of them is in capturing the public's vote in the run up to the 1 May elections.
David Sykes, managing director of Gourmet Burger Kitchen, explained: "So far I've read a dozen or more different polls on who's in the lead, each day with a different opinion on who could win. We thought we'd get a different perspective on the candidates' chance s by asking our customers to vote with their tastebuds."
The Ken Burger consists of 100% beef with salad, relish and a fresh chilli sauce, and The Paddick Burger comprises a fresh breast of chicken with salad, relish and a spicy satay sauce.
The first Burger for Mayor! Burgers have gone on sale at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Tower Place, London this week (starting 15 April).
