Grass-roofed restaurant nears completion

Written by: Admin
The North West's first grass-roofed restaurant is on course to be opened on October 1st in Duxbury Park, Chorley.
The 75 -cover restaurant to be called 'Nineteen Duxbury Park' has been carefully designed to compliment an adjoining group of listed buildings whilst featuring the latest eco-friendly construction solutions. The sedum, or living, roof will actually grow on top of the restaurant giving the building favourable thermal properties whilst being aesthetically pleasing. The new restaurant also includes European Larch cladding, which is completely renewable making it kinder to the environment. Matt De'ath of Nineteen said: "Nineteen Duxbury Park is a landmark project for so many reasons. The living roof has unique thermal properties retaining heat and minimising the need for additional heating. Wherever possible, we have thought carefully about how we can introduce a new building into the stunning historic environment here at Duxbury Park. "We hope Nineteen Duxbury Park will become a benchmark - demonstrating how the catering industry can embrace innovative green solutions in new-build projects. But, more importantly, we hope the new restaurant will be acknowledged as a first class dining experience and hospitality venue, serving superior local cuisine, to make Chorley and the North West proud." 'Nineteen Duxbury Park' will be located in the centre of a cluster of Nineteenth century buildings currently housing Glendale Managed Services head offices who manage Duxbury Park Golf Course and seven others across the UK. The food served will be sourced from local providers wherever possible with lunch and evening menus available. Matt added: "We expect Nineteen Duxbury Park will be one of the year's most exciting new restaurant openings, quickly establishing itself as a standout addition to the North West dining scene."
