Harry's goes back to its roots

Written by: Admin
Harry Ramsden's fish and chip chain is returning to its roots with a move back towards traditional style chippies.
Menus will be displayed on blackboards and will concentrate on favourites such as cod and haddock with fried chips, all complemented by extras such as mushy peas and pickled onions. Petra Zargarani, the chain's marketing manager, said: "At a time when take-away food is becoming increasingly sophisticated, our customers have been telling us that they long for a return to the good old days of simple food, well cooked. That's exactly where we began 80 years ago so we decided to try going back towards that look and feel." The first of Harry's chippies are being trialed at the Bluewater Shopping Centre and the Ashford Shopping Centre. If successful, the new menu dishes will be rolled out at a further 15 locations across the country. Weblink: www.harryramsdens.co.uk
