Written by: Melissa Moody
Jean-Christophe Novelli will head up the quality standard beef and lamb showcase this week (29 March).

The produce will be transformed at the ‘Meat the Chefs’ evening, to be held at Stoke Park Hotel, Spa and Country Club, in Buckinghamshire.

Stoke Park’s, Chris Wheeler, joins forces with his former boss, Novelli and Masterchef ‘The Professionals’ finalist, Louisa Ellis.

In addition, there will be the Miller of Mansfield’s Nick Galer, Dez Turland, Hari Ghotra and the All England Club’s Robert Kennedy.

Host for the evening, Chris Wheeler said: “We are thrilled to be working alongside the Quality Standard scheme, for which I am honoured to be the UK Ambassador.

“The evening has been tailored around the quality meat farmers produce and I’m excited to welcome a group of extremely talented individuals to cook up a seven-course dinner for our guests. Each chef has created a beautiful dish and during the meal we'll answer any questions guests may have, as they enjoy the delicious food.”

Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) created the partnership with the chefs to raise awareness of Quality Standard Mark (QSM) beef and lamb with food services professionals, butchers and consumers.

Quality schemes senior manager Karl Pendlebury, said: “The beef and lamb holding the QSM mark will be transformed in dishes by internationally renowned chefs during the evening to raise awareness to the outstanding quality of this meat.

“Beef and lamb producers have great pride in the quality meat they produce, we’d like their customers and local community to join the evening and taste the delicious dishes, so they can share the atmosphere with other farmers around the country.”

The event will be held on Friday 29 March in Stoke Park’s Fountain Room, beginning at 6.45pm with a champagne reception with Pommery Champagne, followed by the dinner accompanied by fine wines from Justerini and Brooks.
