Mark Allison appointed “Dean of Culinary Education”
Craft Guild member Mark Allison has been appointed “Dean of Culinary Education” at the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University (JWU) in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
Allison will be in charge of 1,300 students and 60 staff at the Charlotte campus, the second largest campus of the four JWU campuses across the US. The campus, located in the centre of the new South, enrols more than 2,500 students, which represent 42 states and 10 countries. The industry expert has picked up numerous awards over the years including Winner of the Craft Guild of Chefs Education & Training Award in 2003, Winner of the Johnson & Wales University "Outstanding Service Award 2006", and was also on the judging panel for the Nestle Toque d'Or competition from 2003 to 2006. And if this is not enough, he has also been heavily involved in organizing scholarships for the Craft Guild of Chefs Association and the Master Chef's of Great Britain, as well as writing for publications such as Stockpot.
