Past treasurer of The Craft Guild Jane Jonson passes away

Written by: Edward Waddell
We are deeply sad to share the news that Jane Jonson, past treasurer of the Craft Guild of Chefs, has passed away aged 66 due to Covid after ongoing health problems.

Jane was a stalwart of the Craft Guild of Chefs. Working firstly at a grass root level, she was part of the backbone of our organisation. She was strongly supportive and involved with the London division for many years, where she served as secretary and was involved in the social events.

Andrew Green, chief executive of the Craft Guild of Chefs, said: “Jane was a wonderful woman, a fantastic colleague and a valuable friend to The Craft Guild of Chefs, we are deeply grateful for her time and the expertise that she lent to us, she will be sorely missed.”

After Jane retired from her full time job as data controller, she worked at the Craft Guild of Chefs head office from 2015-2018, where she helped look after the admin side, and went on to become national treasurer, resigning only last October due to ongoing health challenges.

Geoff Acott, vice president of the Craft Guild of Chefs, commented: “Another bitter blow, Jane was a stalwart of the Guild, One of life’s doers.”

Mark Reynolds simply said: “Sad news another legend left us to soon.”
