Top chefs host Great Chefs Dinner, raising over £70k for DEBRA charity

Written by: Katie Imms
Six Michelin-starred chefs catered the Great Chefs Dinner this month, raising over £70,000 for DEBRA charity, which supports people with the skin blistering condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

Responsible for one course each were chefs: Michel Roux Jr, Andrew Wong, Mark Flanagan, Chris King, Gianluca Fusto and Andrew Gravett, whose dishes were all paired with carefully selected wine.

DEBRA president Simon Weston commented: “I am delighted that we were able to raise over £70,000 from the Great Chefs Dinner, the meal was superb and the wine perfect.

“(DEBRA) is very appreciative of the chefs’ support, it is phenomenal that they gave up their valuable time to help us fight EB and raise the profile of the condition.”

All proceeds will go to DEBRA to help EB nurses provide care across the country.

The next fundraiser event (the DEBRA Butterfly Ball) will take place 14 June at the Royal Garden Hotel (Kensington), where Jason Atherton will cook alongside three Michelin star chef Pierre Koffman.
