Top London chef competes in San Pellegrino Cooking Cup
Jason Atherton, head chef at the Maze in Grosvenor Square, is preparing himself to compete at the San Pellegrino Cooking Cup 2008 challenge on Saturday (28 June).
Set in the Venice Lagoon, the sailing competition covers a distance of 12 miles and will be combined with a battle between chefs on board each competing yacht.
Teams will compete from countries across the world including Australia, Japan, Italy, France and the UK.
Atherton has also been nominated for the category 'Outstanding London Chef' for this year's London Restaurant Awards which are being held at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on 1 September.
Other top chefs competing for the title includes Anthony Demetre, Chris Galvin, Mark Hix, Rowley Leigh and Theo Randall.
