UK chefs to co-host the ‘Malaysia Airlines Taste Tour’ at Canary Wharf

Written by: Katie Imms
Four renowned chefs are headed to Canary Wharf on 13 September to help host Malaysia Airlines’ one-off culinary event, the Malaysia Airlines Taste Tour.

Bringing the tastes and traditions of Malaysia to London, each chef will serve their own ‘unique twist’ on one main course and one side dish.

Having undertaken a culinary expedition to Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Penang to seek inspiration, the line-up includes:

  • Gizzi Erskine, cook and TV chef
  • Hawksmoor’s Richard Turner
  • Nud Dudhia and Chris Whitney from Breddos Tacos
  • Jimmy Garcia of Jimmy’s Popups

As well as visiting street markets, spice gardens, fishing villages and traditional farms, they also cooked alongside some of Malaysia’s ‘most respected’ fine-dining chefs in preparation.

Malaysia Airlines marketing manager, Richard De Villa, commented: “We are delighted to bring these chefs together to showcase Malaysia’s world-famous cuisine.

“We look forward to bringing Malaysia’s richness and diversity to the heart of Canary Wharf.”

Hosted in partnership with Penang Tourism, Sabah Tourism, Shangri-La Rasa Ria and Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, there will also be the chance to win pairs of flights throughout the day, as well as business class trips to Kota Kinabalu and Penang.
